Course Content:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires annual training on bloodborne pathogens and other hazards that employees may face in their work environment. This course is intended to fulfill initial and ongoing training requirements for Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazard Communications.

Course Objectives:

• Understand the risks associated with bloodborne pathogens and how to prevent exposure
• The hazards of chemicals in the workplace
• The procedures for responding to emergencies in the workplace
• Proper procedures for preventing and responding to fires in the workplace
• The proper procedures for identifying, handling, and disposing of hazardous waste
• The principles of ergonomic workspace design for dental professionals
• Learn about the potential hazards associated with dental materials
• The hazards associated with lasers and laser systems
• The potential health hazards associated with silica exposure in the dental setting
• Learn about the potential radiation hazards associated with dental radiology
